About Kylie McDonald 

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved watching theatre and knew I wanted to be a part of it someday. I have vivid memories of going to Shakespeare in the Parks, perched on my dad’s shoulders, craning my neck just to catch a glimpse of the stage.Theatre was not something that was funded in my very small hometown in Montana, but I was determined to be part of something greater. It wasn’t until halfway through college that I discovered my true passion—designing and teaching. I took a costume design class just for fun and I instantly fell in love. I remember going straight to my professor and asking, “Is this a real degree, and how can I switch to it?” From that moment on, I’ve been designing. That passion has grown into other areas too—makeup and wig application, lighting, and teaching both costume design and technology. I’m now proud to be working in my dream field as a TA Professor of Costume Design at the University of North Dakota.
